Picket Wire Canyon

Yesterday Wendy and I had the opportunity to visit the Picket Wire Canyon area located in the Comanche National Grasslands Park, La Junta, Colorado. The USDA Forestry Services was gracious enough to supply us with a guide. Our guides name was Kevin Lindahl and he was awesome! I bet the USDA FS wishes they had 10 more of him working for them. He was extremely knowledgable and quite accommodating to my photography needs.

We saw four major sites on the trip: the Rourke family ranch, a Indian rock art site, an old Hispanic mission, and of course the dinosaur trackways.

I won’t go on and on about the tour in this post, but it’s easy enough to say it was well worth the heat!

I really reflected on my time with my old professor, mentor, and friend Dr. William Sarjeant while out at the trackway site.

Enjoy the photos!
