We are just winding down a trip that started at Saskatoon, SK and went all the way down to the Grand Tetons, WY. On the way back up we spent time in Yellowstone National Park and are currently heading to the Rocky Mountains. I just wanted to share some quick unedited photos that I was excited about! The highlight was a helicopter flight that culminated with my opportunity to shoot the grand prismatic from the air. It was on my photography bucket list 🙂 The best part was that there were so many more of the thermal pools that really surprised me. They were all gorgeous from the air. None of it would have been possible without Mark from Rocky Mountain Rotors (http://www.rockymountainrotors.com). He was a friendly and knowledgable fellow that catered to my desire to shoot the prismatic. Wendy and I highly recommend him and will use his business again in the future.
These are taken with a mix of D800e & D700 bodies, with lenses ranging from a 14-24 f2.8 nikkor to the 70-200 f2.8 VR with a TC-20E III teleconverter. I use a RRS tripod and various mounting plates.
I will make some of these available in the gallery once I get home and have time to tinker and clean the dust spots off the images 🙂 As always if you have any questions please shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
